World Series: The Braves start strong

With an excellent start to the game, the Atlanta Braves won the first game of the World Series against the Houston Astros by a 6-2 count on Tuesday night at Minute Maid Park.

The first hitter to show up at the plate in that duel, Jorge Soler, hit starter Framber Valdez’s third shot solidly and the ball went out of bounds.

It was the first time in World Series history that the first hitter had a homerun in Game 1 of Major League Baseball’s final series.

Coming back to Valdez, the 27-year-old gunner had a short evening on the mound. He allowed five runs on eight hits from a safe place in just two short innings of work. In addition to Soler’s long ball, he also allowed Adam Duvall to stretch his arms for a two-run homer.

In the loss, Chas McCormick and Carlos Correa made sure the Astros signed up for the mark.

Charlie Morton throws with a fractured leg

The Braves starter for this game, Charlie Morton, also had a fairly short game, but not for the same reasons as Valdez.

In the second heat, an arrow at 164.8 km / h from Yuli Gurriel hit him. The 37-year-old right-hander appeared to chase away the pain and secured the other two missing strikeouts, including one on strikes, to end the engagement.

Morton came back on the mound in the third and passed Jose Altuve in the mitt. He then made a sign to the healer to indicate that he was not able to continue the confrontation. The veteran ended his game by giving the Astros just one hit in two and a third innings.

On their Twitter account, the Braves indicated that Morton had suffered a fracture and that he would not return to the game by the end of hostilities in 2021. The organization also said he will return to health before the start. from the next training camp.

As for Game 2 of the World Series, the Braves and Astros will meet again at Minute Maid Park on Tuesday night.
