World Series Darts: Dancing Dimi and Huybrechts impress towards the Belgian quarterfinals | Darts

In the World Series of Darts, Dimitri Van den Bergh and Kim Huybrechts have secured a place in the last 8. Dancing Dimi was 6-3 too strong for his Portuguese friend José de Sousa, while Huybrechts won surprisingly smoothly against Peter Wright: 6 -1.

In the second round of the World Series of Darts, two Belgians appeared on the podium in Amsterdam. For Dancing Dimi it was his first performance, Huybrechts defeated the Briton Michael Smith in the first round (6-3).

After his overall victory at PDC Super Series 7, Dancing Dimi descended to the Netherlands with great confidence. Yet the assignment was not of the cat: a poster against José – The Special One – de Sousa, a great darts player who occasionally has problems counting his score.

In a ‘best of 11 legs’, both players kept each other in balance, until Dimi caused a break at 2-2. The Belgian did not relinquish that lead and steamed to a 6-3 victory. His good average of 101.21 was the icing on the cake.

Huybrechts sends eccentric Wright home

Kim Huybrechts also faced a tough customer with Peter – Snakebite – Wright. Yet our compatriot seemed unimpressed, because he immediately took the first game from Wright.

Huybrechts continued to maintain his high level and played the number 2 in the world from pillar to post. Result: a nice 1-6 win and ticket for the quarterfinals.

In the next round, both compatriots look each other in the eye. A Belgian colored semi-final is therefore already a fact.
