In July of this year, the Sports Secretariat together with the rest of the Patagonian provinces announced the holding of the Araucanía National Games to be played in the first week of November.

To maintain the spirit of the historic event and give continuity to the 28 years of competition, the highest Patagonian authorities decided to keep the name of Araucanía but adapting it to a national version due to the absence of the Chilean delegations for health reasons.

From that moment on, Río Negro Sports began an intense work together with the clubs, municipalities, associations and federations of the province in order to have the most outstanding athletes in the selected ones.

On the other hand, in order to avoid crowds and give more young people the opportunity, the coaches traveled a large part of the provincial territory and carried out selectives for both the male and female branches in which they closely followed the performance of the athletes.

The Games will take place in the first week of November with the participation of Tierra del Fuego, Santa Cruz, Neuquén, Chubut, La Pampa and Río Negro, with the competition distributed in cities in five of these provinces.

In the case of soccer and basketball, the matches will be played in Chubut, Neuquén will host athletics and handball, swimming will take place in Santa Cruz, Tierra del Fuego will feature volleyball and Río Negro will host judo and cycling.

The event will be presented this Monday, November 1 at 6:00 p.m. with the presence of the Rio Negro authorities at the Ángel Cayetano Arias Sports Center, while the rest of the venues will do so simultaneously in their provinces.

The activities will run until Sunday 7, which will be the last day of competition and subsequent closing of the Games in Chubut, where the points will be counted and the winning province will be announced, with an award ceremony in Puerto Madryn.
