With a goal from Olivier Giroud, AC Milan overthrows Hellas Verona

Without Mike Maignan, injured, or Zlatan Ibrahimovic, on the bench at kickoff, or Theo Hernandez, Covid positive, AC Milan managed to overthrow Hellas Verona (3-2). However, everything started badly for Stefano Pioli’s men as Gianluca Caprari opened the scoring (7th) for Verona before Antonin Barak made the break from the penalty spot (26th).

Dominated in the first period and logically led, the Rossoneri have stepped up in the second act. Olivier Giroud’s goal, with a beautiful header (59th), allowed his team to have no doubts. And the teammates of Daniel Maldini (son of Paolo) ended up equalizing thanks to a penalty from Franck Kessié (76th).

Milan’s third and final goal, synonymous with victory, came after a clumsy clearance from defender Koray Günter who ended up in his own goal. With this victory, AC Milan takes the lead in Serie A while waiting for the Naples match on Sunday (6 p.m. against Torino), and remains undefeated in the Championship.
