The Caracas native defeated Isidro Benítez from Puebla in the first playoff hole to make his debut as champion in the Professional Golf Tour in what is his first year as a member of the only golf pay circuit in Mexico.

In fourth place there was a tie between the local Luis Gerardo Garza and the leader of the ranking, the Guatemalan José Toledo, both with 202 strokes, 14 under par.
