70 judokas for the day course in Witten
After the West German U15 championships the previous weekend in Lippstadt, the regional trainer Jens Malewany had invited to a day course at the Witten state performance base. All participants were tested before the start and there were no surprises: all tests remained negative.
Despite the holiday season and other competitions, 70 boys and girls born between 2007 and 2009 came to Witten. Jens Malewany led through the course together with Maike Ziech, district trainer from the Cologne district and Moritz Vieregge, intern at the NWJV. There were three units spread over the day. In the morning the focus was on the stand, with a lot of basic work and an hour of Randori. Then there was a 45-minute athletic unit with many prevention exercises.
After the lunch break we continued in the ground. There was also a lot of repetition, and at the end there was a long round of floor randori.
In the afternoon, the participants from all over North Rhine-Westphalia went home with a lot of established knowledge.
