Two players from the UPAEP women’s basketball team have been summoned (as of October 24) by the CONDDE to the pre-national team that will participate in a tour of Texas and Arizona. They are Ángel Fierro Sánchez, a Physiotherapy student and Paulina López Cervantes, a Digital Graphic Design student.
Both selected women already know what it is like to live a national selection process because Ángel participated in the FIBA Centrobasket U17 in Aguada Puerto Rico and in the FIBA Americas U18 in Mexico City.
For her part, Paulina, recently arrived in Las Águilas for this school year, has had experience in U16 category representatives (pre World Cup in Chile) and U18.
“I am very happy to return to a selection call, it will always be an honor to be able to represent the country in any competition,” said Fierro Sánchez.
For her part, Paulina López mentioned that she is very excited to meet her teammates since they are great players. “Ángel and I are working very hard together with the team to be able to earn a place in the National Team; I will do my best to represent my country ”.
The last university selected by UPAEP, in basketball, were the now graduates Saide Peraza and Ingrid Martínez who represented Mexico at the 2019 Naples World Universiade.
