“TTT Rīga” celebrates its third victory in a row, two more Latvian teams are succeeding

On Saturday, all five Latvian women’s basketball teams played in the elite group of the Baltic Women’s Basketball League (BSBL).

“TTT Rīga” will visit the students of Riga Stradiņš University (RSU) with the result 72:60 (22:13, 19:11, 17:23, 14:13) won the third victory in a row. Jamsmine Thomas stood out, but Daugile Šarauskaite accumulated “double-double” with 16 points and 16 rebounds. Marta Daniela Leimane was the best in the RSU team with 13 points and six rebounds, while Māra Mote added ten points.

“Liepāja” won the Tallinn victory over Tallinn “TalTech” / “Nordraid” with the result 63:60 (18:18, 14:16, 16:15, 12:14). Maija Gertsone was the most productive among Liepāja women, who scored 19 points and gave four productive passes. 11 points were added by Paula Kļeščova, but 10 points were scored by Elvija Veršele.

In turn, BJBS “Riga / Juniors” / LU beat Klaipeda International University in Klaipeda with the result 75:56 (18:12, 20:16, 17: 8, 20:20). Nikola Priede scored 17 points in favor of the people of Riga, but Katrīna Luīze Krieviņa added 14 points and six provoked remarks.

“Daugavpils University” suffered a second loss when the elite group returned, losing to Tallinn University with a result of 44:84 (13:24, 15:22, 9:22, 7:16). Kristīne Egle was the most productive in Daugavpils team with 13 points.

12 teams participate in the Baltic League elite group tournament – five from Latvia and Lithuania, as well as two from Estonia. After the two-lap tournament, the two best teams will qualify for the final four-tournament, while the 3rd-6th place winners in the quarter-finals will see two more Final 4 participants.
