Of the Truist Park is a baseball stadium in the metropolitan area of Atlanta. It is located in Cumberland in Cobb County, approximately 10 miles (16 km) northwest of downtown Atlanta. It is the home ground of the Atlanta Braves from Major League Baseball. It solved the Turner Field as the venue of the Braves away. The symbolic, first ball throw (English Ceremonial first pitch) led Braves-Legend Hank Aaron.[4]
On November 11, 2013, the Braves announced that they would be leaving their pitch for a new stadium after the 2016 season.[5][6] The Braves have been playing their home games in Truist Park since April 2017.[7]
Truist Park was built in a public-private partnership (PPP) with a project budget of US $ 622 million. Cobb-Marietta Coliseum & Exhibit Hall Authority has issued up to $ 397 million in bonds for the project. The district raised $ 368 million in bonds, $ 14 million in transportation taxes, and $ 10 million from businesses in the Cumberland Community Improvement District. the Braves controlled the remaining money for the park and the Battery Atlanta (Area around the stadium with shops etc.). In total, the construction project cost $ 1.1 billion.[8]
the Braves played a preseason game against the New York Yankees on March 31, 2017 as a soft opening for season ticket holders.[9] The Atlanta Braves beat them Yankees with 8: 5.[10] On April 8 of that year, the University of Georgia teams wore (Georgia Bulldogs) and the University of Missouri (Missouri Tigers) the first batch for the general public.[11] The lost in front of 33,025 spectators Bulldogs 1: 6 against them Tigers.[12] The first batch of Braves in the regular season of the MLB took place in the new home on April 14, 2017, a 5-2 win against the San Diego Padres.[7]
In January 2020 the stadium became the Braves renamed. The SunTrust Park became the Truist Park. The new name was created through the merger of SunTrust Banks with BB&T Bank.[13]
