Trèbes: Chloé Rumeau on the way to the French championships

Medals at the Occitanie championships : Trebeen badminton proud of its daughters. Last weekend, the youngest Chloé Rumeau won two gold medals (mixed, singles) and a silver medal in doubles. Claire Raynaud wears a silver medal (doubles) and another in bronze (singles) around her neck. Bravo for these great performances brought back from these Occitanie championships which took place in Vigan near Gourdon in the Lot, on the 9th and 10th October. Chloé therefore qualified to participate in the French championships, the 13 and 14 November in Mulhouse, his girlfriend Claire unfortunately fails on the second step of the podium.

Resumption of training at the local Cosec

The Trebeen club, affiliated with the French Badminton Federation, suffered like many other sports clubs from the Covid episode. Its president Yves Raynaud evokes a very choppy season for young people while some adult competitors have let go. However, training has resumed, as before at the local Cosec. From 7/8 years old, you can start to hold racket and shuttlecock in your hands. The young people train in Trèbes, on Wednesday afternoon. Competitors who participate in tournaments and other championships also meet on Monday evening.

At the end of September, a great reunion took place during the first competition in Trèbes. Limouxins, Chauriens, Catalans, Ariégeois had the pleasure of confronting each other during this tournament. The next interclub is scheduled for December in Limoux.

An international champion trainer

Yves Raynaud, the tennis player, discovered badminton ten years ago as a sportsman. His daughters practicing this sport, it is only natural that he took the head of the club which was looking for a president, a few years ago. The atmosphere within the club is good, some parents are helping and the optimism is noticeable on the pitch. Léo Cantié, Xavier Canal and Manuel Dubrulle are the coaches, the latter coaches, among others, Chloé and Claire.

The discreet Manuel Dubrulle has a nice track record. A specialist in men’s doubles, he has won the French championship in this category eight times.

Within the world elite, Manuel Dubrulle was also known under the pseudonym “ wiper “, nickname given to him for his exceptional mobility in the background.

He has won a total of ten international doubles tournaments in eight years and 21 French championships in six age categories.

The training partners of Chloé and Claire, Émile, Tom, Sam, Lucas and Tristan are motivated …

All have only one goal, that Chloe succeeds in her French championships in November.
