three associations will share the gym in the historic center

ALBA The sports associations Judo club Alba, Alba judo center and Kickboxing center 2000 Alba will share the use of the municipal Judo gym in the historic center building in via Generale Carlo Alberto Dalla Chiesa, in Alba.

In recent days, the mayor Carlo Bo and the municipal councilor delegated to sport Daniele Sobrero met with the exponents of the three associations active in combat sports and martial arts who accepted the administration’s proposal to share a space in the same location.

To better accommodate the sporting activities of the three clubs, the Administration is planning an expansion of the gym: the existing structure will be integrated by a rectangular extension of 8.6 by 9.6 meters with coverage identical to the existing one and large windows to allow direct natural light to enter.

«With the increase of users in this gym – explains the mayor Carlo Bo – we deemed it necessary to expand the available spaces and provide more suitable premises. For this reason, at the end of September the municipal council approved the technical and economic feasibility project: it is an investment of 235 thousand euros that will make it more usable, also depending on its use by several sports associations ».

“The intention to bring these three martial arts associations to the Judo gym is something I worked a lot on and I’m happy that it materialized, also because it was quite challenging and not obvious”, declares the municipal councilor delegated to sport Daniele Sobrero. «After some initial difficulties and a series of meetings with the individual Asd, (aimed at listening to the needs and expectations of each one), we have planned further meetings with the three associations. Everyone participated, perhaps initially with some apprehension but, considering and positively evaluating the future prospects, a dialogue full of enthusiasm was born that led us to find a shared solution, also useful for consolidating the esteem relations between these sports associations ».

«Very positive meeting. We talked about an agreement that makes us participate and happy and this encourages us because we get involved in discussions to find solutions at the logistical level and on the spaces “, he declares Fabio Martini, president and technical director of the Kickboxing center 2000 Alba. «We are happy about it and we hope that this collaboration will continue over the next few years. In the meantime, we will face the European championships in Montenegro on November 4th where we will stay for ten days and where we will carry the Alba pennant ».

“We are delighted to enter this new common home of judo,” they jointly declare Manuela Gandolfo, president of Centro Judo Albese and provincial delegate Fijlkam (Italian Federation of judo, fight karate martial arts) and the master Francesco Iaboni. «We are grateful to Daniele Sobrero for his work and his commitment to finding an agreement with the various parties. Daniele managed to get us to find an agreement and to find a judo house in the town hall. For our part, we are committed to always maintaining good relations with other clubs, working in synergy with correctness and loyalty, friendship and collaboration, putting into practice the values of judo ».
