The Pro League announces an agreement on a reform of the social status of footballers: a saving of “more than 25 million each year”

This would save “more than 25 million each year, just for football, and in a sustainable way”, announces in L’Echo Thursday Pierre François, the general manager of the Pro League, which brings together all the professional clubs football of the country. He said he did not wish to give details on the content of the agreement, except for the fact that it only concerns the social status of footballers, and not their tax status, pending the return of the ministerial cabinets concerned.

Pierre François announces having transmitted, Tuesday, the project to the cabinets of Karine Lalieux (PS, Pensions) and Frank Vandenbroucke (Vooruit, Social Affairs).

In budgetary conclave, the federal government had decided to achieve 43 million annual savings on Belgian professional sport, of which 30 million should weigh on clubs.
