Asked about the No. 12 Tennessee, Paul George did not go by four ways: the former Murray State has something to quickly become part of the league. The winger (41 points and 10 rebounds on the meeting) even had a comparison made for him, just to tease the potential of the guy:
“He’s explosive. He wants to go left, we knew that, but he’s just so good and so fast. He’s just explosive, electrifying. I’d compare him to like D-Rose. I guarded him my rookie year, the Indy-Chicago, and guarding Ja is very similar to how D-Rose was.”

This is not the first time that PG13 has associated the interested party with the MVP 2011, and the fact that he reiterates his words shows that Morant follows a linear progression. With 32.5 points and 7 assists on average over the first two games, he started off on a monstrous basis! If his scoring numbers are bound to drop over the season, he may finally be able to take Memphis to the playoffs. The boy has talent in his hands, it remains to show it in the post-season.
Being compared to Derrick Rose is always an honor, and that should make Ja Morant very happy. It’s up to him to justify this confidence by winning in 2021-22!
