The Coes has new authorities

The presidency of the Olympic Committee of El Salvador will be in charge of Armando Bruni, who will be in charge until 2024. Eduardo Palomo’s term has ended.

After their respective voting process, last night the Olympic Committee of El Salvador (Coes) elected its new authorities. After just over an hour and a half of waiting, the official presentation of the forms, and the election by show of hands, the new elected president is Armando Bruni.

Bruni, who is currently the president of the Salvadoran Badminton Federation (Fesalbad), will be in office until 2024. He led the winning team (sheet 2), and will be accompanied by six more members. The Executive Committee will thus be made up of Roberto Calderón (general secretary), Gloria de Henríquez (treasurer), Sandra de Uceda (first vice president), Claudia de Hernández (second), Jorge Cabrera (third) and Salvador Salguero (fourth).

As confirmed by the Committee, there were 45 votes in total, of which the election left Bruni with 36 in favor; while sheet 1, which was led by Fabrizzio Hernández, current vice president of the Coes, received only nine. The team that made up the also head of the Salvadoran Federation of Bodybuilding and Related Sports had the following members, most with experience in the institution: Francisco Ramos, Vilma de Flamenco, Jorge Guevara, Josselyn Alabí, Carolina Figueroa and Rafael García.

In this way, with the arrival of Bruni, the three periods of being at the head of Eduardo Palomo’s Committee (since November 2007) end, summarized the Coes. For his part, Bruni is in the second period at the helm of national badminton (2014-2018 and 2018-2022).

“Thanks to the Presidents of the Sports Federations for choosing me to take command of this great ship. Thanks to my work team, for believing in this project ”, declared the president-elect.
For his part, Palomo congratulated Bruni and his team: “Congratulations to the winning roster. We will work with you in the transition ”.

While Hernández gave his words, after learning that he will not be in charge of the Committee: “I want to thank the team that was part of my roster. I give you my support, I will join the effort as long as you need me. I will collaborate intensely, so that things develop in a better way ”.
