The best seventy-six players in NBA history according to the league

In 1996, the NBA compiled an obviously questionable list of its own best fifty players ever. This year after the seventy-fifth year of activity insiders have compiled a list of the best seventy-six players, thus including great champions of the last twenty-five years and others who in the previous list of only fifty had been ignored.

I settantasei dei dell’olimpo sono i seguenti: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Ray Allen, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Carmelo Anthony, Nate Archibald, Paul Arizin, Charles Barkley, Rick Barry, Elgin Baylor, Dave Bing, Larry Bird, Kobe Bryant, Wilt Chamberlain, Bob Cousy, Dave Cowens, Billy Cunningham, Stephen Curry, Anthony Davis, Dave DeBusschere, Clyde Drexler, Tim Duncan, Kevin Durant, Julius Erving, Patrick Ewing, Walt Frazier, Kevin Garnett, George Gervin, Hal Greer, James Harden, John Havlicek, Elvin Hayes, Allen Iverson, LeBron James, Magic Johnson, Sam Jones, Michael Jordan, Jason Kidd, Kawhi Leonard, Damian Lillard, Jerry Lucas, Karl Malone, Moses Malone, Pete Maravich, Bob McAdoo, Kevin McHale, George Mikan, Reggie Miller, Earl Monroe, Steve Nash, Dirk Nowitzki, Hakeem Olajuwon, Shaquille O’Neal, Robert Parish, Chris Paul, Gary Payton, Bob Pettit, Paul Pierce, Scottie Pippen, Willis Reed, Oscar Robertson, David Robinson, Dennis Rodman, Bill Russell, Dolph Schayes, Bill Sharman, John Stockton, Isiah Thomas, Nate Thurmond, Wes Unseld, Dwyane Wade, Bill Walton, Jerry West, Russell Westbrook, Lenny Wilkens, Dominique Wilkins, James Worthy.

When twenty-five years ago the NBA compiled a list of its best fifty basketball players of all time, vi there was controversy over some excellent exclusions like Dominique Wilkins and Bob McAdoo, who instead appear in this list together with Dennis Rodman, Reggie Miller, also ignored last time. Sometimes time can be an honest man. However, the fact that among the new twenty-five champions have included four candidates but ignored twenty-five years ago and only twenty-one of the last twenty-five years will certainly be debated. Although this list is moot, nonetheless represents the highest medal for valor that a basketball player can receive even more than induction into the US Hall of Fame.
