During the summer school holidays, the French BasketBall Federation (FFBB) and GRDF are relaunching the Generation Basket Centers, free basketball courses for young people aged 8 to 18 to promote social integration through sport. In this context, the Generation Basket Center in Thaon-les-Vosges will welcome young people who will participate in a basketball camp from November 2 to 5, 2021. Organized with the Thaon Basket-ball Club, in accordance with current health standards, this Introductory and advanced course is aimed at all young people who wish to discover this sport, its values, without a competitive spirit.

Every summer since 2014, many Generation Basket Centers welcome a total of more than 2,000 children and adolescents for a week. These centers are places of discovery, initiation and / or improvement in the game of basketball, open to all young people from 8 years old. This course aims to promote the practice of team sport, to promote living together and to strengthen social diversity.

More than 60,605 young people have already participated in a session within a Generation Basket Center. With the support of GRDF, these centers are developing throughout France. Today there are more than 180 partner clubs spread over 61 departments. For each session, GRDF provides kits made up of balloons, bibs for the participants, t-shirts for the supervisory staff and goodies.

For Jean-Pierre Siutat, President of the FFBB: “Access to sport for all and basketball in particular is our priority, this partnership with GRDF allows us to continue our development” .
