Taylor Pendrith’s Bermuda Honeymoon Continues

Married for 15 days, the Canadian Taylor Pendrith will set off on Sunday with a 3-stroke lead in the last round of the Butterfield Bermuda Championship on the Port Royal course.

Looking for a first victory on the PGA Tour after just four top-flight tournaments, the Canadian rookie, Taylor Pendrith, made another demonstration on Saturday by signing a remarkable 65.

He notably managed 4 consecutive birdies from 7 to 10 after conceding his 5th bogey of the week at the start of the game.

He then continued his good day by signing 3 more birdies on the next 8 holes and was one of the 4 players of the 3rd round who only needed 2 shots on the 16, a long par 3 of more than 200 meters !

Pendrith ahead New Zealander Danny Lee made a good last putt at 18 to make him a solid 65 as well.

Lee is the only top 5 player to have won the PGA Tour in the past, but we have to go back to July 2015, at the Greenbrier Classic, to find any sign of the South Korean native’s victory.

He also authored a 65 Australian card Lucas Herbert, double winner on the European Tour points to 4 strokes.

Dauphin by Paul Barjon in 2019

Pendrith, who won two tournaments on the Mackenzie Tour in Canada in 2019 as he tried to make his way to the PGA Tour, had finished 2nd on the Canadian Satellite Tour Order of Merit behind Paul Barjon.

If they win on Sunday, the bridegroom would be exempt for the next two seasons on the PGA Tour and secure a place at the start of the next Masters in April.
