Swanson and Soler put the Astros in check

One step away from the title were the Atlanta Braves this Saturday after coming back and defeating the Houston Astros 3-2 to make the series 3-1.

Houston took the lead in the first inning with a hairline pushed by Carlos Correa and – three innings later – extended his lead to 2-0 with a home run by Jose Altuve.

But the Braves weren’t willing to let the series even be matched, so they fired all their artillery to come from behind.

Austin Riley singled to left field in the sixth to discount with a hairline. And the next inning Dansby Swanson and Jorge Soler hit home runs to flip the board.

The rest was history. Luke Jackson and Will Smith retired the last six batters to seal the victory.

In the end Tyler Matzek (1-0) was left with the victory and Cristian Javier (0-1) took the loss.

The Braves will have this Sunday – at home – the opportunity to win champions for the first time since 1995.
