In the midst of this, the Badminton Association of Sujeong, Jungwon, and Bundang-gu of Seongnam-si held a press conference in front of Seongnam City Hall on the 28th urging that “in the with Corona situation, indoor and outdoor sports facilities should be opened immediately to promote health and live sports for sports enthusiasts.”

The 3 district badminton federation said, “As the public indoor sports facilities across Seongnam are currently closed, sports clubs and sportspeople have not been able to hold regular meetings and games, as well as the association chess and ward chess games, which were held regularly every year for 2 years.” and complained

In addition, the association explained, “Even if the facility is opened, the waiting time is longer because the number of people is limited on a first-come-first-served basis, and as a result, some people give up exercising and go back.” In fact, in the case of the Hwang Sae-ul National Sports Center, it is said that there are occasions where parking fees are additionally incurred due to the increase in waiting time than the exercise time.

Sports clubs and daily life athletes added that, as this situation is repeated, continuous exercise is impossible, and 50-60% of the existing members are not active even in clubs that have been operating steadily.

Accordingly, the Federation demanded that Seongnam City open indoor and outdoor sports facilities, operate from 6 am to 10 pm for convenient use, and ease restrictions on the number of indoor players to protect the rights and interests of athletes.
