Success with badminton for the elderly

In order to reduce the gradually long waiting list and at the same time provide new opportunities to play, Ældre Sagen now also offers badminton on Wednesdays.

Even if you get older – or especially because of it – it is important to stay physically active.

More and more people are finding out that you have to keep going to get old and here are i.a. badminton a great opportunity, which provides good exercise and ample opportunity for socializing.

Badminton on Thursdays in the old badminton hall at Skovalleen has for several years been an opportunity for Ældre Sagen’s members.

Due to increasing interest, a few years ago they chose to extend with another playing day until Tuesday.

– But the demand for playing badminton did not stop here and in order to reduce the waiting list and provide opportunities for new ones, it has from this season been opened up to also play on Wednesday morning, says Jens Ole Sørensen, chairman of Ældre Sagen’s badminton department.

-If you would like to play badminton at Ældre Sagen, you are welcome with us on Wednesday – as long as there is still room, Jens Ole emphasizes.

-We play in Sæby Badminton Club’s hall, where we meet at 09.00 and play as long as you like, but interrupted by a much-needed break, where the social is paramount, and where we enjoy each other’s company over a cup of coffee with accompanying roll.

-Double is played, and no regular partners are played, so everyone has the opportunity to play with / against everyone.
