US team players complained about Popovich’s offense in Tokyo. The stars – who are essential for the United States to win gold – might disagree with Kerr’s equality plan. But the American coach has a cache after guiding Golden State to three NBA titles. It will go a long way, especially if the Warriors remain strong for years to come. Additionally, Kerr might have enough talent with the USA squad that his offensive system is ideal, and more so if one of the superstars he coaches is present at the Paris 2024 Games, Stephen Curry.
