Slovan wanted to win from the table, sounds from Trnava. The league finally overcame the shameful derby

The football war between Spartak Trnava and Slovan Bratislava moved behind the scenes after a shameful performance of hooligans in Sunday’s derby. The two sides exchanged a few scathing remarks and accused each other of lying. On Wednesday afternoon, the Slovak Union of League Clubs decided to default against Trnava.

On Sunday, Trnava and Slovan were to face the first place in the ranking of the Slovak league on the pitch of Anton Malatinský’s stadium. But the main attention was drawn to the fans of both camps, after a quarter of an hour they broke into the playing area and performed a disgusting theater to the rest of the audience.

“The wheelbarrow spoiled the primitivism of several people,” said former national gunner Róbert Vittek, who, in addition to Slovak hooligans, was also to take part in the event.

“It was a celebration of bourgeoisie, cowardice and unfairness,” said hockey veteran Marián Gáborík on the social network, who did not miss the duel. However, he did not see the continuation of football after the end of the fan battles. Referee Filip Glova did not let the match be completed.

For three days, there was a lot of speculation about the next fate of the traditional derby, before on Wednesday afternoon the presidium of the Union of League Clubs in Slovakia decided on a contumacy to the detriment of the home Trnava.

“We have had a severe blow both as a football and as a league, we had to draw conclusions,” said the presidium, which decided on the verdict on the basis of documents from both clubs, match delegates, referees and police officers.

Consumption to the detriment of the locals, due to the uncontrollable organizing service, was probably the most probable solution from the beginning, and Trnava actively opposed the Slavs in a week. She accused the championship club of undue pressure on the referee to end the match prematurely.

“After the eviction of the guest sector, it could continue to be played. From that moment on, Slovan began to influence the public opinion in an effort to force a contumacy. We admitted a mistake in organizing the match, but it is incomprehensible to us that , “Trnava wrote in a press release.

Slovan claimed after the match that smoke bombs and stones were thrown at his fans, which unleashed the whole commotion. According to representatives of Trnava, however, no one from another part of the stadium could get over the guest sector.

Spartak also published a video which, according to him, shows that smokestacks in black and red (ie in the club colors of Trnava) were set on fire in their own sector by the Slavs themselves. “In an effort to get three points from the table, not on the field, the Slavic leadership does not shy away from lying,” added Trnava.

She also did not like the way in which the Slovak television TA3 informed about the event, which was supposed to offend the defenders of Trnava and the national team icon Martin Škrtel in its broadcast, whom she associated with what was happening among the fans. Trnava mentioned the ownership ties between television and Slovan.

The Slavs’ reaction came immediately. “Drowning stalks are catching,” the club from the capital wrote its press release sarcastically. He reiterated that the match was ended by the main referee, while the risk of danger in the event of an overtime was considered extremely high by his representatives.

“It was not enough to evacuate the sector of our fans, when it was also the domestic ones who unleashed the conflict.

He also commented on the bias in the media: “We are convinced that Trnava mentioned TA3 television only because it has the same owner as Slovan. At the same time, other nationwide televisions also produced outputs with similar content.”

In the end, the “whites” added that they will no longer address the topic of the unfinished derby and are concentrating on Thursday’s European Conference League match.

It is already certain that the February revenge between Slovan and Spartak will be a really explosive match in Bratislava.
