Schwartzman turns around to Evans in Indian Wells

Argentine player Diego Schwartzman made it to the round of 16 by defeating Daniel Evans at the Indian Wells Masters 1000 5-7, 6-4, 6-0.

It was the second time that these two tennis players met in an official match after doing it after not long. Just a few weeks ago at the Cincinnati Masters 1000 who won the victory was the Argentine in three sets. The ‘Peque’ arrived after having to face a hard crash against the local Cressy and the British defeated a hard stone as Kei Nishikori always is.

After being quite calm in the opening games, Diego was the first to have to face moments of trouble. He harvested it with good dynamics and that boosted his confidence to be able to go for Evans’ service that he saw as his opponent surpassed him. The ball came out very well from both sides wanting to be the one who took the initiative from the bottom of the court.

Evans’ streak

That break took him to 2-5 in which Evans reached 5-3. However, a very bad game by the Argentine put Evans squarely into the set. Schwartzman lost a lot of confidence and Evans the opposite happened to him on the Californian court. At 5-6, Daniel had a 0-40, but there was a good reaction from the Argentine who came to tie it, although the situation ended with that set in favor of the British with many errors from the seed No.11 which was definitely from plus to minus over the course of the manga.

The Briton’s streak continued as he reached an o-2 against a ‘Peque’ who was still not comfortable at all. He confirmed his first service game but immediately afterwards, he was going to save a very delicate option since Daniel enjoyed the break ball to leave with the double break. That moment inspired a Diego who was perceived with a much more positive attitude after making many fuss towards his bench. He had his chance, but at the moment where the match was at a high level, Evans knew how to lift two break balls that allowed him to continue with the difference marked from the beginning of the sleeve.

Schwartzman flips it

The Argentine did not want to throw him overboard and increasing his version on the court, helped a bad game by the British that placed him with a 0-40 with three unforced errors. That first break came after a good definition on the net and the 4-4 was a fact. Then another moment of difficulty came for Schwartzman when he had to turn around 15-40. Therefore, with the 4-5, and the duel full of a quite mental battle, the Argentine continued with the good dynamics that he brought, putting aside the errors and the second set was his.

The last set could not go better for Diego since the first break he harvested was valid for Evans to completely get out of the duel. Schwartzman had a higher intensity on his punches and Evans was missing a lot. He did not have to wait long to define the match as he went to the second match point. The next opponent will be Ruud or Harris.
