Schwartzman said goodbye to Vienna and away from ATP Finals

End of the road for Diego Schwartzman in the ATP 500 in Vienna. The Argentine, who had just been a finalist in Antwerp, could not repeat this week in Austria and fell to Frances Tiafoe 6-4, 7-6 (6).

In a very dizzying match, the American and the Peque played a tennis that had everything. During the first round, which ended 6-4 in favor of the North American, he came to have a 3-0 lead and it seemed that he would close it very calmly. But Schwartzman raised his game and did not make it easy for him.

With the first set assured, in the second again Tiafoe had a comfortable lead of 5-1 but Peque rallied again and was 6-5, forcing a possible outcome in the third set. But in the tiebreak, the American was better in details and ended up taking the match.

With this defeat, Schwartzman moved a little further away from the ATP Finals in Turin. He will still have to play the Masters 1000 in Paris and the ATP 250 in Stockholm, tournaments in which he will try to overcome players like Casper Ruud, Jannik Sinner and Hubert Hurkacz in the race to the tournament to be played in Italy.
