Samuel Bocher, 42, is a physical education and sports teacher. Breton by origin, he spent all his youth in the Saint-Malo region. After the baccalaureate, at the age of 19, he studied sports in Angers, in Maine-et-Loire, and obtained his Capes in 2002. A teacher at 23, he was assigned to various establishments (Nantes, Castres) of private education. In 2005, he arrived in Saint-Affrique at the Saint-Gabriel high school. “I have always enjoyed teaching. I have always practiced different sports such as running, tennis, mountain biking, badminton and volleyball. I have never been a specialist athlete. I am a versatile sportsman, in all modesty. In teaching, what I like is passing on certain values ​​of sport. It is also, for the activity itself, what it provides for health and well-being. to be, but also for its social dimension. Sport is about meeting people. “

In Saint-Gabriel, Samuel Bocher participates in the development of many projects. In 2017, the archery section was created at Jeanne-d’Arc college and Saint-Gabriel high school: “Archery is an old story in the establishment. It is a great encounter for me, both for the activity itself and for its educational virtues.” The second big project set up by Samuel Bocher is the handball sports course with the help of Etienne Bettan, trainer at Saint-Affrique handball: “The idea is to do a” mini-sport study “, with five to six hours of training per week integrated into the students’ schedule. We have just launched a development option for handball at Jeanne College -d’Arc for four hours a week. “ Twenty-eight students are enrolled in this scheme at Saint-Gabriel and sixteen at Jeanne-d’Arc. In addition, in October 2018, with a dozen founders, Samuel Bocher created the club des Flèches Saint-Affricaines. “I am quite an entrepreneur, says Samuel Bocher. I like to take on challenges, even if it’s complicated. Just because you’re in Saint-Affrique doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be ambitious. “

Snowshoe projects

By virtue of his profession, the man rubs shoulders with many associations in the city. He was president of the badminton club. This is how he joined the sports committee in 2016 or 2017 as a simple member. Last June, on the occasion of Jean-Luc Boué’s resignation from the post of president, he was unanimously elected president: “The committee is also a force for proposals. We are carrying out a project to create two padel tennis courts, a mixture of squash and tennis. It is a booming activity in France. We are working in collaboration with the tennis club. . ” These are outdoor courts with a synthetic surface surrounded by glass walls and some grilles. The committee is also planning a joint action with the Colosse aux pieds d’Argile association: “The goal is to offer an awareness day to all sports clubs in the city against all forms of hazing and sexual abuse in the world of sport. The idea is to organize it during the sports season and at later in September 2022. “
