Since the season started this year, injuries have hit hard again. Roger Federer. His knee became a headache, so his schedule, little by little, was reduced more and more.

With five tournaments in the year, ‘His Majesty’ had to say goodbye to this year’s calendar to continue treating his knee, at age 40. Although the fear of many fans was not to see him on the court again, the Swiss cleared that idea and confirmed that he will be present at a tournament in 2022.

Roger Federer confirmed his participation for the Halle ATP 500 in Germany, scheduled for June next year. And although the organization communicated it several months ago, due to its current status, the Swiss preferred to announce it and make it clear.

With this, the former ATP number one begins to draw his way for the next season. With 10 titles in one of his favorite tournaments, Federer hopes to be 100% by that date and thus face Wimbledon with guarantees, his maximum goal.

In addition to this news, the organization of the star tournament on grass in Germany confirmed other great players such as Alexander Zverev, Daniil Medvedev, Kei Nishikori and Karen Khachanov.

It should be noted that Roger Federer, due to long inactivity, left the top 10 to fall into box 15 in the last ATP rankings. ‘His Majesty’, who has not competed since Wimbledon on July 7, was overtaken by the Italian Jannik Sinner (11th), by the Canadians Felix Auger-Aliassime (12th) and Denis Shapovalov (13th,), and by the British Cameron Norrie (14th).
