In an interview with the Japanese website Number Web, the Spaniard praised the good year of Novak Djokovic, who was close to winning the four Grand Slam of the season. He also referred to that defeat he had against the Serb in Paris.
“He is the perfect tennis player, he has no weak points. Even if he plays on dirt, hard court or grass, he is capable of winning. This year has been incredibly strong. Even in those days when things don’t seem to go his way, you have the feeling that he will end up winning ”, Nadal said.
“I think Novak was more efficient and smarter than me in that game. Also, I think he was cooler than me. I wanted to keep winning in Paris for as long as possible, but it couldn’t be the last time. I am looking forward to going back to Roland Garros again next year ”added.
Nadal also dedicated a few words to Roger Federer, who like him is off the court due to injury, “He is another perfect player. The modernity of his style of play is astonishing. It is very difficult for his rivals to predict his game because of the diversity of ways in which he can fight”He added.
On the other hand, the former number one returned to refer to his current state and made it clear that he does not know when he will play again. “I am no longer 20 years old. It is important not to push your body too far to the limit to prevent injuries ”, ended.
