Pujols will be uniformed in the Dominican Republic with El Escogido

The Dominican veteran Albert Pujols will be uniformed in LIDOM with the Leones del Escogido, who received him via exchange with the Gigantes del Cibao.

Cibao sent Edward Paredes and Melky Mesa, both with a lot of experience in the winter league, to receive the big league that for the first time in his career will play the championship of his country.

Pujols, who all his career belonged to the Giants, had not played in LIDOM and will now arrive next Friday to join the team immediately.

The 41-year-old veteran will also be able to wear his traditional number 5, which despite being retired by the Lions, received authorization from Junior Noboa to deliver it to Pujols.

The first baseman hit .236 this season, with 50 RBIs and 17 home runs between the Dodgers and Los Angeles Angels.

It should be noted that the Dominican Baseball League started this Wednesday and the Escogido started with a defeat against the Tigres del Licey.
