Preparatory course for Cali-Valle 2021: National archers on the event podium

The youth archery team achieved five medals at the Central American Open Championship that took place in El Salvador. The appointment is part of the preparation of the tricolor towards the Cali – Valle 2021 Junior Pan American Games.

A gold, a silver and three bronze medals were the harvest of Team Ecuador in the event that brought together eight countries. In compound arc Blanca Rodrigo won the gold medal in the elimination round of the women’s individual finals and two bronzes for mixed teams together with Mateo Oleas, and in the qualifying round at 50 meters.

Oleas won the silver medal in the knockout round of the finals and added another bronze in the 50m qualifying round.

The tricolor Alain Freire and Marie Córdova also competed in the event in the recurve bow modality. Freire placed fourth in the qualifying round at 70m of the individual event; while Córdova finished sixth in the qualifying round at 70m.

Delegations from Guatemala, Costa Rica, Panama, Puerto Rico, Ecuador, Colombia, the Netherlands and El Salvador participated in the contest. (D)
