Paul Munster’s reaction to Cardiff City’s interest

Munster currently still has a contract with Bhayangkara FC, but rumors are circulating that the Championship club are interested in his services.

Northern Ireland coach Paul Munster has reportedly entered the transfer market for a new coach from the English second tier club, Cardiff City. Currently, the club nicknamed the Blue Birds is without a manager, after sacking Mick McCarthy.

The inclusion of Munster’s name as one of the Cardiff candidates originated from the tweet of a British journalist named Will Unwin. This rumor is referred to as ‘left wing’, aka unusual, but Vincent Tan as the owner of Cardiff really wants to innovate.

The spread of this rumor had received a response from Sumardji, as COO of Bhayangkara. The figure who is also the Commissioner of Police said that he was proud that Munster was being watched by foreign clubs, but he still wanted the coach to keep his commitment.

Currently Bhayangkara is able to occupy the top of the standings with 22 points, from nine matches. It is hoped that Bhayangkara’s streak of good results will continue, especially after the team is able to comeback after suffering their first defeat of the season.

Munster responded to rumors that he was targeted by Cardiff after the match against Borneo FC, which ended 2-1 for Bhayangkara. For the former coach of the Vanuatu Islands national team, the most important thing right now is to get the best results with The Guardian.

“I don’t know where the news came from. What is clear, now I focus on Bhayangkara FC because the news from the media is sometimes true, sometimes wrong,” explained the 39-year-old young coach.

It’s actually a good thing to be known to work here [Indonesia, Bhayangkara FC]. But, I don’t want there to be any disruption to the work I’m doing here,” he replied, emphasizing his focus on Bhayangkara.

So far, Bhayangkara is the team with the most wins with seven wins. They only drew once, and only lost in the seventh week, when they faced Persib Bandung. As usual, Bhayangkara became a strong candidate for champion.

Regarding the victory over Borneo, Munster was happy that his team got up in the second half. They were trailing 1-0 until the first half was over, thanks to a goal from Wawan Febriyanto. But in the second half, after the match was delayed for a long time due to the condition of the field when it rained, Bhayangkara was able to get up.

“It was like two different games, in the first half we played well. But the expectations have to be higher than the result in the first half. The boys did really well, both attacking and defending.”

“This result shows a very good winning mentality from the players.”
