Oren Smadja

Shay-Oren Smadja ( Hebrew : Oren Samadja ; born June 20, 1970) is a former israelis judoka and a judo coach. Smadja won the medal of olympic bronze on judo at the 1992 Summer Olympics , making him the first Israeli man to win an Olympic medal and the second Israeli overall after Yael Arad he won silver in judo the day before. [2]

Smadja was born in Ofakim , Israel , in a family of ancestry Sephardic Jew ( bean Tunisian ). Won the medal of olympic bronze on judo at the 1992 Summer Olympics in the category sub 71 . [3] In 1995, he won a silver medal at the 1995 World Judo Championships . The following year, he was unable to repeat his Olympic success at the 1996 Summer Olympics . [4]
