Shay-Oren Smadja ( Hebrew : Oren Samadja ; born June 20, 1970) is a former israelis judoka and a judo coach. Smadja won the medal of olympic bronze on judo at the 1992 Summer Olympics , making him the first Israeli man to win an Olympic medal and the second Israeli overall after Yael Arad he won silver in judo the day before. Smadja was born in Ofakim , Israel , in a family of ancestry Sephardic Jew ( bean Tunisian ). Won the medal of olympic bronze on judo at the 1992 Summer Olympics in the category sub 71 . [3] In 1995, he won a silver medal at the 1995 World Judo Championships . The following year, he was unable to repeat his Olympic success at the 1996 Summer Olympics . [4]
