It took some effort, but OH Leuven knocked Lierse K. out of the cup tonight. The first division team saw that the “Pallieters” still came alongside, but in the end Kaba stuck his 2nd of the evening against the nets.

Lierse have not yet lost at the Lisp this season, while OH Leuven has not yet been able to win on the move. The home advantage was therefore for the “Pallieters”. Still, both teams held a lengthy study round. There were a few small chances left and right, but we didn’t see any really big opportunities before the break.
The fact that Marc Brys dropped 6 new names in the base, against the type team of Lierse, did not do any good for the automatisms at OH Leuven. Brys then threw Kaba between the lines and it paid off. After a ball against Hendrickx’s arm, the ball hit the dot. Substitute Kaba did not disappoint: 0-1.
Fan is being resuscitated
Whoever thought that Lierse would just give in, was in for the trouble. After Tamari’s pass back was too short, Liongola was able to outwit goalkeeper Runarsson.
Immediately after that equaliser, it was a bit of a shock when it turned out that a Lierse supporter became unwell. He was briefly resuscitated, but regained consciousness. The game then paused for a while. After that break we seemed to be heading for extra time. Kaba decided otherwise. He nodded in the decisive 1-2 on Tamari’s cross.
Gillekens had to take an early shower in the ultimate final with his 2nd yellow card.
