GREEN BAY, Wis. – The Green Bay Packers put Jaire Alexander on the injured list, causing the cornerback to miss at least the next three games.
The Packers announced the news on Saturday, a day before their duel against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Alexander injured his shoulder in the Packers’ 27-17 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers last Sunday.
Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said Friday he was hopeful Alexander would avoid the surgery and the cornerback “could be back in a few weeks.”
This injury leaves the formation of Green Bay without its best cornerback. Alexander competed in the Pro Bowl last season, receiving a selection to the NFL All-Star Second Team.
The Packers took the opportunity to reinsert defensive lineman Tyler Lancaster, who was on the reserve list linked to COVID-19, into their roster. Guard Ben Braden and wide receiver Equanimeous St. Brown have moved from practice squad to active roster.
