Dak Prescott is not sure if he will be able to play on Sunday

10 days ago it was reported that, after Dallas’s game against New England, the QB Dak Prescott ended up injured and was even seen wearing an orthopedic boot. However, what at the time seemed to be a minor mishap, until at least yesterday afternoon continued to keep Prescott’s playing status for Week 8 as an unknown, who at a press conference refused to reveal if he will be able to participate in the meeting of the Cowboys against the Vikings this coming Sunday:

“I think that would spoil all the fun,” Prescott said when asked if he will play next Sunday, via Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News. “We will move on. Obviously, we have to keep making progress. It is not totally my decision because there is a bigger picture. It is more than a game. I don’t want this to take longer than this week. “

Also, although the injury is not as serious as it might seem, Prescott added another comment that certainly does not bring reassurance or good memories in Dallas: “Honestly, I think this calf had something to do with it,” he said, referring to the devastating injury to ankle that he suffered in the 2020 NFL Season.

So while the outlook looks favorable for Prescott to play Minnesota, Dallas has every right to be cautious considering they pay their star quarterback an average of $ 40 million per season. Plus, losing it for longer could end up being just as catastrophic as the year before. Will we see Prescott on the field next Sunday?

Robert Tonyan, Kylin Hill, and more injured at TNF

Thursday Night Football of Week 8 ended with a Packers tight win over Cardinals With a score of 24-21, however, both teams suffered injuries during the game, and in this space we evaluate the most relevant ones.

Los Packers they were previously without several of their receiversHowever, everything got worse after the TE Robert Tonyan He left yesterday’s match prematurely after a reception late in the third quarter. Tonyan caught a 33-yard pass from the QB Aaron Rodgers, but fell to the grass with a knee injury. He was briefly lying on the field before heading out to the locker room on his own foot for further evaluation, but the outlook is not looking very encouraging.

At the end of the meeting, the HC Matt LaFleurAlthough he did not give an exact update on Tonyan’s status, he did not look very optimistic: “I don’t want to talk much about it right now. It makes me sick for Bobby. It means a lot to this team (…). I still think there is more to him. But as to whether this is long-term, I don’t know, but it makes me sick for it. He makes me sick for us, and my heart goes out to him ”.

Other casualties suffered by Green Bay were that of the DL Kingsley Keke (shock) and the RB Kylin Hill (knee). The latter suffered a spectacular mishap with the Cardinals’ running back, Jonathan Ward. Both were quickly ruled out of the match after Ward’s head contact against Hill’s knee on a punt in the third quarter.

These were the injuries that occurred yesterday, and it will be important to keep abreast of future reports from the aforementioned players, especially Tonyan, who is a vital weapon in the Packers offense and losing him would be brutal in their postseason aspirations.

Chiefs bid for Melvin Ingram

The deadline to trade the 2021 NFL Season is next Tuesday, November 2, and with the deadline just around the corner, several teams seem to be trying to move their last cards of the year. The Chiefs They urgently need to improve their defense, and the Steelers linebacker, Melvin Ingram, wants to go to a team that gives him more playing time.

However, the foregoing does not necessarily imply that an agreement will be reached. Via Aditi Kinkhabwala of NFL Network, Kansas City made a formal offer to Pittsburgh to acquire Ingram’s services. However, those led by Mike Tomlin They’d rather not trade him to another AFC team, and the decision makes sense considering that, as a result of their level of play, Pittsburgh and Kansas City could end up fighting for a Wild Card spot late in the season.

Ingram, 32, was a first-round pick for the Chargers in 2012, where he played for 9 seasons before joining Pittsburgh in 2021, but he hasn’t done very well – his playing time dropped to just 26%. of the Steelers’ defensive snaps in Week 6. However, over the course of 10 years, Ingram has accumulated 370 tackles, 50 sacks, 14 forced fumbles, 7 recovered, 3 INTs, and was a Pro Bowler from 2017 to 2019. Where will we see him play after November 2?

The US Congress wants to know more about NFL confidentiality agreements

Last Thursday, via Cody Benjamin from CBS Sports It was confirmed that the Oversight Committee of the United States House of Representatives decided to explore the NFL research on the Washington Football Team work cultureHowever, Congress does not plan to stop there.

Via ProFootballTalk, the Committee wants to know more about the uses of confidentiality agreements by NFL teams. The previous Thursday’s letter sent to the commissioner Roger Goodell requires the league to “confirm the number of confidentiality and nondisclosure agreements entered into by the NFL, from January 1, 2016 to date, including names of the teams involved, dates of the agreements, and whether the agreements resulted from accusations of discrimination and retaliation ”.

Additionally, the letter also asks the following question: “What actions, if any, has the NFL taken regarding the use of confidentiality and nondisclosure agreements in matters related to workplace abuse since January 1, 2016? ”.

The above is a relevant issue considering that, for example, it was the disclosed terms of multiple nondisclosure agreements in late 2017 that resulted in then-Panthers owner Jerry Richardson deciding to sell the team. In fact, Mary Jo White, who was hired by the NFL to conduct an investigation into the Carolina situation, has since suggested that the league ban the use of confidentiality agreements.

But finally, as notified last week, the NFL has until next Thursday, November 4 to give an answer to the United States Committee on this case, along with the WFT’s work culture, and both should take an eventual step of face to be solved. Should these confidentiality agreements exist in extra-court topics or not?

La’el Collins returns from suspension in another position

In more NFL news, suspension of five games of OT La’el Collins for violating the league’s substance abuse policy has finally come to an end, however, he will not return to the starting right tackle job on the Los Angeles’ offensive line. Cowboys it occupied before it was suspended.

The HC of Dallas, Mike McCarthy, commented that Terence Steele He will continue to start as RT, and that they will try to work with Collins “as much as possible” during this week of training. Additionally, McCarthy added that Collins will also see work as a guard:

“I just want him to get back out there and get back into the routine of everything,” McCarthy said, via David Moore of the Dallas Morning News. “I think it’s like anything. There is a reason we practice. There is a reason why those members of the offensive line spend so much time together (…), I just want to see him get back into rhythm ”.

Collins, who came to the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent in 2015, played offensive guard early in his professional career, but subsequently served 47 games between 2017 and 2019 at right tackle, before missing the entire 2020 NFL Season for a hip injury. Finally, it is irrefutable that his versatility on the field practically ensures that he will start again in some section of Dallas’ offensive line. Will we see Collins play in Week 8?
