Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappé, Neymar, Di Maria, Donnarumma, Sergio Ramos, Hakimi… On paper, the PSG team looks life-threatening, but in practice it’s a different story.
PSG is in the lead in Ligue 1 and in its group in the Champions League, but the level is variable. The high expectations of the forward Messi-Mbappe-Neymar are not yet fulfilled and Sergio Ramos played less than a minute in Paris.
“It doesn’t matter which names are on the pitch, we are very aware of the potential of our team,” Neymar said during an interview on YouTube. “But if we don’t work together, if we don’t work for each other…there won’t be any titles.”
“We need to understand each other better as a team for that to happen,” concluded the 29-year-old attacker. Still, Neymar is not worried: the season has only just started and there is still time to get better attuned to each other, he said.
“When all these big names who have made football history come together, it will certainly make us one of the most important teams to beat. But the other teams have also strengthened well. In football you just have to play.”
