The Puerto Rico Basketball Federation launched on Friday a new portal dedicated to the National Teams in which it collects the story and performances of the combined from 1930 to 2020 in both branches.
The place https://puertorico.basketball/historia/ It includes the participation of the national quintets in the Olympic Games, the list of the technicians who were in charge, the best scorers and outstanding data during those events.
The portal, which you can access for free, was created with the purpose of rescuing and promoting the most important and shocking data of the women’s and men’s National Team in international basketball.
“This collective effort of the Federation will help the entire national and international community to have access to these data on international participations and, at the same time, for new generations to know the history of the Puerto Rico National Basketball Team in both branches” , expressed Yum Ramos, federative president, in a press release.
The new portal also contains a chronology of the most memorable moments of the national teams throughout these eight decades of Puerto Rico in international basketball.
For data collection, the Federation counted on the historian and journalist, Carlos Uriarte, who indicated that data from other international participations will be added soon.
“This is the first part of a work that is more comprehensive and that will later include data on the participation of the women’s and men’s National Team in Central American and Caribbean Games, Pan-American, World, Pre-Olympic and Americas Championship”, indicated Uriarte.
The Federation aims to document the participation of national teams in youth tournaments.
