NBA: The heartbreaking account of how Vanessa Bryant found out about the deaths of Kobe and Gianna

Vanessa Bryant was subjected to a bowel movement, that is an interrogation to a party or witness in a court case, as part of the lawsuit process against Los Angeles County for leaking photos at the scene of her husband Kobe’s accident. And for the first time the wife of the late former NBA player revel the chilling details from the way he found out of the tragic event.

An article by Ryan Young for Yahoo Sports collects Vanessa’s testimony as part of the deposition of the case.

Vanessa was at home with her two youngest daughters when a family assistant knocked on her door around 11:30 a.m. That assistant said that Kobe and Gianna had been involved in a helicopter accident, but that the first information spoke that five people had survived.

Initially, Vanessa thought Kobe and Gianna were alive and they helped other victims. However, I tried calling him and that’s when began to see notifications of Kobe’s death on his phone.

Vanessa rushed to try to get to the crash site, according to the report. Initially he went to an airport to catch a helicopter, but officials did not allow him to fly due to bad weather conditions. I ended up traveling with the Lakers general manager, Rob Pelinka, to the Malib sheriff’s station.

There, he said, “no one answers” to his questions about Kobe and Gianna. Finally, he said that a Los Angeles pastor, publicist and sheriff, Alex Villanueva, entered the room, and confirmed that, finally, Kobe and Gianna were among the dead“.

It is hard to imagine the roller coaster of emotions that Vanessa felt in those moments. The wife of the late Kobe files a lawsuit open to Los Angeles County for the anguish caused when several employees leaked photos of the accident site. The case continues its development and the testimony of more people involved is expected.
