NBA: Spurs and Pöltl disenchant champions

NBA

The San Antonio Spurs and Jakob Pöltl pulled themselves out of the crisis on Saturday (local time) in the National Basketball Association (NBA) – and that with the reigning champions Milwaukee Bucks. The Texans disenchanted the defending champion with 102: 93 and after four defeats they were able to look forward to another victory.

For the Spurs, the win in Milwaukee was only the second success this season after the one at the start against Orlando Magic. Pöltl contributed eight points, six rebounds and one assist each as well as a steal in 22:42 minutes of deployment time to 102: 93. The Viennese marked six of his points in the final quarter.

The Spurs had entered the section with a margin of 69:67 and never gave up the lead. Dejounte Murray put the game on hold with a long-range goal to make it 97:87 with 1:12 minutes left. The Guard was also the Texans’ top scorer with 23 points. The Bucks, which had won 121-111 a week ago in San Antonio, were led, as so often, by Giannis Antetokounmpo. The Greek superstar marked 28 points and 13 rebounds.

“We defended very well and were able to bring it home with important throws against the defending champions,” said Pöltl, commenting on the outcome of the game. The next opponent of the Spurs on Monday away is the Indiana Pacers, the current bottom of the Eastern Conference.

First defeat for Utah

After the Saturday game day in the NBA, no team is without a defeat or without a win. Utah Jazz was the last club to lose the “clean slate” with a 99: 107 at the Chicago Bulls. The Detroit Pistons in turn celebrated their first win of the season with 110: 103 against Orlando Magic.
