NBA Preseason: Los Angeles Lakers and Russell Westbrook falter

The Los Angeles Lakers have also lost their fourth preseason game, with Russell Westbrook producing more turnover than points. Moritz Wagner’s game against the Spurs was also mixed, his brother Franz at least achieved a personal preseason high. The Bucks make short work of the Thunder.

Orlando Magic (0-3) – San Antonio Spurs (2-2) 100:101 (BOXSCORE)

  • It is not yet the preseason of the Wagner brothers. No.8 pick Franz Wagner achieved his best points haul of the pre-season against San Antonio (8, 2/3 threesomes) and collected 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals and 1 block in 22 minutes, while his older brother Moritz stayed in 10 Minutes of deployment time almost completely pale (0 points, 0/3 FG, 1 assist, 1 steal, 2 blocks).
  • Terrence Ross (20, 7/14 FG), Mo Bamba (16, 10 rebounds and 5 blocks) and Wendell Carter Jr. (14 and 7 rebounds) were in good shape. Rookie Jalen Suggs only got 4 points (2/4 FG). The starters of Magic were even allowed to run in the fourth quarter when Orlando started a comeback after being 17 points behind.
  • The Spurs starters had already finished work. Dejounte Murray swung to the top scorer of his team in 25 minutes before (18, 8/12 FG), Keldon Johnson (12) and Lonnie Walker IV (16 and 5 assists) also delivered double-digit yields and Jakob Pöltl came in 8 minutes Counter and 9 rebounds. After Orlando equalized the game shortly before the end, Keita Bates-Diop brought the Texans from downtown back to winning ways.

Cleveland Cavaliers (1-3) – Chicago Bulls (3-0) 101:102 (BOXSCORE)

  • It wasn’t a particularly efficient evening for the stars of the Bulls. DeMar DeRozan led his team with 23 points (9/17 FG), but behind them especially Nikola Vucevic (10, 3/12 FG) and Lonzo Ball (10, 4/12 FG) had problems with their throw. The point guard filled the box score with 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals and 4 blocks. Zach LaVine also came out of the field on 13 points at 5/14.
  • The hero of the evening from Bulls’ point of view was rookie Ayo Dosunmu. The second round pick put his team in front with a layup a good one and a half minutes before the end. After a Cavs turnover, he put the lid on and sunk a jumper out of the zone against Cedi Osman. In the end, Dosunmu got 9 points in 7 minutes. From the bench, Alize Johnson also made a good match with a double-double (14 and 11 rebounds).
  • At the Cavs, Darius Garland and Collin Sexton, among others, got a break, but Lauri Markkanen drew attention to himself with 18 points (8/14 FG). Rookie Evan Mobley (15, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 blocks) was also convincing and the third Big Man in the starter group Jarrett Allen did a very good job (12 and 8 rebounds).
