Aith 28 points (6 of 8 three-pointers), Anthony took over from the bench from LeBron James, clumsy (19 points, 7 of 19 shooting), to support Anthony Davis (22 points, 8 rebounds) and Russell Westbrook (13 points, 13 assists) and finally offer a victory to the Lakers, who won 121-118 at home.

The Angelenos started their season with two losses after having already lost all of their preseason games. Opposite, the Grizzlies, despite another remarkable performance from their leader Ja Morant (40 points, 10 assists), cash their first defeat.

At the other end of the United States, in Brooklyn, the Nets of Kevin Durant (38 points at 71% on shots), for their first home game, suffered the law of the Charlotte Hornets (111-95), which clinched their third win in three games – the best start to the season in franchise history.

“It shows our progress”, responded Miles Bridges (32 points, 9 rebounds) after the game: “As long as we continue to behave with maturity, we will continue to win”.

Anti-vaccine rally

The New York evening was also marked by an anti-vaccine rally in front of the Barclays Center. The demonstrators, who denounced in particular the fact that the star leader of the Nets Kyrie Irving cannot play until he is vaccinated against the Covid-19, briefly tried to enter the room, without succeeding.

“Obviously, we would like Kyrie Irving to be on the field, he is very important in what we do, but that’s not the case at the moment”, commented Kevin Durant after the meeting, referring to the situation of his teammate.

“We must therefore find how to do without him,” concluded Durant, appeared a little lonely in the defeat of the Nets. James Harden distributed 8 assists, took 7 rebounds and scored 15 points, but with a faulty address (2 of 8 with three points in particular) and losing eight balls.

Like the Hornets, the Golden State Warriors also continued their perfect run at the start of the season, securing a third victory in three games in Sacramento (119-107), behind the inevitable Stephen Curry. With 27 points (and 10 assists), he finished top scorer in the match, despite an address rather at half mast (4 out of 15 with three points).

In Houston, it was Jayson Tatum (31 points, 9 rebounds) who led the Celtics to their first victory of the season (107-97).

The Knicks were surprised at home 110-104 by the Orlando Magic, which they had however crushed by 25 points two days earlier in Florida, despite a new big game from their home Julius Randle (30 points, 16 rebounds). This is the first defeat of the season for Evan Fournier’s teammates, rather discreet on Sunday (8 points to 3 out of 11).

Finally, the Oklahoma City Thunder chained a third defeat in three games against the Philadelphia Sixers (115-103), still deprived of their Australian leader Ben Simmons, in conflict with the franchise.
