NBA: Jakob Pöltl records his career best

The Viennese wrote a highlight on the fifth anniversary of his NBA debut, he could not prevent the defeat of his San Antonio Spurs.

Jakob Pöltl achieved a personal career record in the National Basketball Association (NBA) on Tuesday (local time). The center scored 27 points in the 121: 125 nV of the San Antonio Spurs against the Los Angeles Lakers. With 14 rebounds, he was also the best Texan man on the boards exactly on the fifth anniversary of his debut in the NBA (October 26, 2016, note). In 37:36 minutes, Pöltl also posted three blocks and a steal.

Despite the strong performances of the 26-year-old Viennese and Dejounte Murray, who marked a triple-double with 21 points, 15 assists and twelve rebounds, the Texans had to lose the floor for the third time in a row. For the Lakers, who competed without the superstar LeBron James, who had hit the right ankle, wrote Anthony Davis (25 counters, 17 rebounds) and Russell Westbrook (33 points, ten rebounds) like Pöltl in double double digits.

The exciting game in San Antonio had to offer 24 leadership changes. In addition, it was eight times tied – the last time with 1:31 minutes playing time in extra time after Pöltl had scored 121: 121. Then Davis and Westbrook made the decision and the final score. Austria’s NBA pioneer described the defeat as unfortunate. “We played well, but unfortunately we weren’t able to bring home a twelve-point lead (97:85 after three sections, note) in the fourth quarter.” The Spurs will be guests of the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday.

Tuesday’s NBA results: San Antonio Spurs (with 27 points career best by Jakob Pöltl, further 14 rebounds in 37:36 minutes) – Los Angeles Lakers 121: 125 nV, New York Knicks – Philadelphia 76ers 112: 99, Oklahoma City Thunder – Golden State Warriors 98 : 106, Dallas Mavericks – Houston Rockets 116: 106, Utah Jazz – Denver Nuggets 122: 110.
