NBA superstar Kyrie Irving (29) will not play for the Brooklyn Nets again until he gets vaccinated. The NBA team announced on Tuesday.
General Manager Sean Marks: “We have decided that Kyrie Irving will not play or train until he is a full teammate again.”
Because: In New York there is a strict vaccination requirement for professional athletes – Irving strictly refuses to provide any information about his vaccination status. The Nets know his status, but the laws forbid any statements about it.
The playmaker could only have been used in games outside of New York. In the past few days he had started training because the Nets site is considered private property.
Marks explains, “It is imperative that team chemistry be able to develop. We remain true to our long-standing values of togetherness and sacrifice. “
Without Irving, the team is severely weakened despite the superstars Kevin Durant (33) and James Harden (32). Marks emphasizes, however, that the goal remains the championship.
Irving loses around 328,000 euros per game. Should he still not be vaccinated, it would even cost him his annual salary of 29 million euros!
