The tenth match turned out to be the right one for Mouscron in 1B. The last in line could finally score three points on Virton’s field. This is how Mouscron sneaks up to three points from Virton (and possibly also RWDM, that is
plays on Sunday).
In a balanced first half with the occasional chance, scoring first turned out to be an important weapon.
Moreover, Mouscron scored at the perfect moment. Captain Lepoint headed a Chevalier cross from close range against the net: 0-1.
After the break Virton had the ball most often, but the best chances remained for Mouscron. Chevalier still kicked the crossbar.
Mouscron had the situation under control and secured the victory two minutes before the end of regular time.
Substitute Joachim Carcela tried from afar and saw his shot disappear into goal because goalkeeper Sadin misjudged.
