Washington (SID) – The Atlanta Braves are one World Series win from their first Major League Baseball (MLB) title in 26 years. The Braves won 3-2 on Sunday night against the Houston Astros, which means Atlanta is 3-1 in the final series. During the game, ex-President Donald Trump caused displeasure with a controversial gesture of encouragement.
The “Tomahawk Chop”, which is extremely popular with fans of the Braves in support of their team, is perceived as racist by the Native Americans. The arm imitates the blow of a tomahawk, which is seen as an insult to the cultural heritage of the indigenous population. Trump attended the game with his wife Melania.
The next duel will take place in Atlanta on Monday night (CET). The Braves have won all seven home games in the play-offs so far. “It’s such a cool moment for this city. But we still have one game and nothing can be taken for granted. We have to be ready tomorrow,” said Atlanta’s Dansby Swanson, who scored a home run.
Atlanta last won one of its three MLB titles in 1995, Houston last won the MLB championship in 2017.
