Max Verstappen, nou leader of the Formula 1 World Championship

BarcelonaValtteri Bottas is enjoying the Mercedes like never before. Since a few weeks ago it was announced his departure from the German team and his incorporation into Alfa Romeo for next season, the Finnish driver looks different. Without pressure and only wanting to finish the season with the best sensations, the results have been exceptional. At the Turkish Grand Prix he has done it again. Bottas has taken the race. Tenth victory of his career, with an overwhelming superiority ahead of the two Red Bulls, who have had a good weekend, despite going quite unnoticed.

The light rain showed up a few hours before the race and did not go away. Asphalt water has been a headache for all teams during the Turkish Grand Prix, especially for Mercedes. Lewis Hamilton, while climbing positions titanically, has had them with his team leader when changing tires fifteen laps from the end. Finally, the seven-time world champion has made the decision and, without changing tires, has remained on the track until seven laps from the end, when the puncture was very cheap. The Briton, very angry seeing that the change did not push him towards the podium, closed the radio with a “leave me alone”.

Change in the World Cup

In the end Hamilton finished fifth, behind Charles Leclerc, and lost the World Cup lead. Max Verstappen has hit the table thanks to second place in the Turkish Grand Prix. Much of that second place has been thanks to his teammate, Checo Perez, who has battled Hamilton halfway through the race to hold him back and help Verstappen further maximize the podium. The driver of the race, however, was Carlos Sainz. With overtaking and an elegant and masterful driving, the Madrid player has led a comeback from the last position to the eighth in which he has ended up crossing the finish line.
