Massimiliano Allegri: If Cristiano Ronaldo had left earlier, Juventus could have improved more

Ronaldo left just three days before the summer transfer window closed, making it difficult for the Bianconeri to find an ideal replacement.

Massimiliano Allegri believes that this summer’s Juventus transfer window could have been different had Cristiano Ronaldo left the club earlier.

Earlier, there were comments from Giorgio Chiellini criticizing the timing of Ronaldo’s departure to return to Manchester United, saying that the Bianconeri could have done more to find a replacement had the Portuguese superstar not waited until the transfer deadline to leave Turin.

The way and the moment of CR7’s departure was not ideal for Juventus, because he left only three days before the transfer window closed at the start of the 2021/22 season.

The Serie A giants’ movement was limited to finding a replacement for Ronaldo and made their choice to repatriate Moise Kean on loan plus a permanent purchase obligation in 2023.

“I learned one thing,” Allegri told DAZN. “Things said and things done are interpreted by everyone.”

“I believe that Chiellini said positive things about Cristiano, an extraordinary player who it was an honor to coach him, and I have coached many champions.”

“It’s natural that on August 28, three days before the transfer window ends, you have no possibility of finding a replacement [Ronaldo].”

“The club did a great job of signing Kean, a player who also scores important goals and I’m happy.”

“If it is [Ronaldo] went a month earlier, maybe the club would have had the opportunity to work in a different way. It’s just a market problem [transfer], does not pose a problem. “
