Marit Bouwmeester pregnant with first child: ‘Perfect timing’ | Sport

„Baby incoming! Diederick and I are super happy and grateful,” reports the mother-to-be. “If all goes well, the timing will be perfect for my road to the Paris Olympics.”

With this, Bouwmeester makes it immediately clear that she will not say goodbye to sailing at the highest level until at least 2024. In France she then goes on the hunt for her fourth Olympic medal. With silver in London (2012), gold in Rio (2016) and bronze in Tokyo (2021), she already has all color medals in her trophy cabinet.
