The seller of newspapers and magazines Mario Mayorqui died yesterday at the age of 62, as a result of a disease that was discovered a short time ago and that was incurable.
The death produced deep sorrow among all those who knew him and especially in his fellow canillitas, of whom he enjoyed great appreciation.
In recent months, when the illness he suffered forced his hospitalization, the vendors divided Mario’s work and brought the proceeds to his family home, located in the Libertad court (the one that starts from the Municipal Sports Center and reaches Italia Boulevard) . This clearly shows the appreciation shown by his colleagues in the field.
The Central Union Athletic Club and Library also had him among its most appreciated collaborators: “If you had to fill out the basketball sheets, Mario was there; if you had to wear the team jerseys, Mario was there ”, they told a journalist from The newspaper from the Rucci street institution.
In his social networks, Aurinegro published the following caption: “We accompanied the family of Mario Mayorqui, a historical collaborator of the club, before his departure. We send our deepest condolences and ask for your eternal rest ”.
Below that legend appeared the club’s crest, with a black ribbon.
A friend of his friends, Mario also frequented the Huracán Club, in the Güemes neighborhood, although the activity there was more social than sporting. The talks, the anecdotes … Mario’s company will also be missed at the headquarters on Colombia Street.
