KOMPAS.com – The world number 1 pair Marcus Fernaldi Gideon / Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo stepped firmly into the quarter-finals of the French Open 2021 on Friday (10/29/2021) early morning WIB.

Marcus/Kevin overcame the challenge of German representatives Mark Lamsfuss/Marvin Seidel with a score of 21-19, 21-16 at Stade Pierre de Coubertin, Paris, France.

The match which lasted only 33 minutes was Marcus/Kevin’s first appearance at the 2021 French Open.

Marcus/Kevin did not play in the first half because their opponents, Joel Eipe/Rasmus Kjaer (Denmark), decided to withdraw.

The win keeps their 100 percent record against Mark Lamsfuss/Marvin Seidel.


Marcus Fernaldi Gideon and Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo started the match impressively and led 4-1.

Despite being chased to 13-14 through the fast tempo game of Lmasfuss/Seidel, Marcus/Kevin responded well and produced game point through a score of 20-17.

The German opponent had twice thwarted the Minions’ efforts to lock up the first match.
