Lyon. A reissue of Marty McFly’s sneakers in “Back to the Future” at auction

In the second part of the “Back to the Future” trilogy, they light up and tie themselves up at the feet of Michael J. Fox. Marty McFly’s Nike sneakers will be auctioned in Lyon on November 4th. The sale will take place both on site, in the Artenchères auction house (Lyon 8e), and in live streaming.

A pair that belongs to a collector from Lyon

This pair, size 9.5 in the USA (the equivalent of a 43.5 in France) belongs to a collector from Lyon who wishes to remain anonymous at all costs. They were worn, but not by the actor. They are part of a rare reissue, in 2011, 1500 copies were sold on Ebay for the benefit of the Michael J. Fox foundation for research on Parkinson’s disease (from which the actor has suffered since the 1990s).

In 10 days, more than 10 million dollars had been collected, and the shoes scattered all over the planet … One of the pairs was in Lyon.

The Lyon copy estimated between 6,000 and 8,000 euros

The Nike BTTF (“Back to the future”) are among the most expensive sneakers in the world; the originals go up to 40,000 euros on the Internet, these up to 25,000 euros new and in their box.

The Lyon copy was estimated between 6,000 and 8,000 euros.

Auction “Retro towards the future-urban arts, sneakers and street wear”, Thursday November 4 at 6 pm at 2-4 rue Saint-Firmin and live streaming, Lyon 8th. Exhibition the day before. 130 other items for sale.
